I went to watch Delhi 6 today. Many of my friends had asked me not watch it. But I went anyways. One of my friends had challenged me that I would walk away at the intermission. Instead, I chose to sit through the movie. I really liked it. I liked the concept of how a small monkey could lead to a communal riot. Sometimes it did seem that they were dragging the story along. But later I realised that they had dealt with several issues through a single film. The fact that Indian television channels today sensationalise every single incident was brought up beautifully. The ending had a few lines that left me thinking. It said that there was a kalla bandar (black monkey)in all of us which laughed as we fought over it and killed each other was just so thought provoking. I loved the film. Though not many agree with me. Hope many such films on current issues come along.
This is part of my frantic efforts to express myself effectively through the new media. I will try to battle out my schedule, my laziness and my thought process in order to keep this blog alive. Also, I would love to wake my creative self up to make this blog less text heavy and add more visual elements in it so that you don’t feel that I am “mere words”.
